2022 DEMOCRAT OF THE YEAR GALA

On Sunday, May 1, 2022, the Longmeadow Democratic Town Committee will host its annual Democrat of the Year Breakfast at Twin Hills Country Club honoring Boston Mayor Michelle Wu as its 2022 recipient.  

Honored for her unprecedented effort in addressing inequities in housing, transit, and climate sectors, Mayor Wu has enacted this change through communicating directly with her constituents and attending community events.  Mayor Wu has been described as an “unapologetic history-maker,” and Longmeadow Democrats have selected her as the Democrat of the Year in acknowledgment of her extraordinary achievement.

Joining Mayor Wu at the event as Special Guest Speaker will be Senator Michael J. Barrett, the Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities, and Energy.  Also in attendance will be elected officials and Democratic leaders from across the national, state and local spectrum including Chairman Richard Neal, Gus Bickford, Chairman of the Massachusetts State Democratic Party, Senator Eric Lesser, Representative Brian Ashe, District Attorney Anthony Gulluni and Sheriff Nick Cocchi.
